Yeah. I was one who 'bugged out' in 1955. There weren't nothing there for me at that time. No money, no family and a job which was going nowhere. Best move I ever made. But, I do get homesick for Sinney and the bush. And some of the blokes I grew up with. Course, most of 'em are dead. Of well, WTF. We make our beds and learn to lie in them.

Used to like Bourdain, but I find most of the stuff he puts in his mouth pretty disgusting.
Loved "Taste of Honey" when it came out but wasn't aware that it didn't go over well in the U.S. but then, at that time we weren't around a bunch of fuddy duddies as we are now.
There seems to be a malaise in the United States. It shows itself in the reactions older of some people and Conservatives have to Change. The median age of the neighborhood I live in is around 75 and the majority are opposed to Change, but it expresses itself as 'hate' and does not entertain any reasonable discussion of differences of opinion. I can see where the Tea Party gets support. Tom Friedman have some good strokes to Oz and EnZed in his article on Elephants Down Under. Pity us Yanks can't follow their lead and have a parliamentary system.

I didn't like Gordon Ramsey either until I saw his Christmas show when he was cooking with his kids. It was very entertaining. Here he was being a cook rather than a chef (who runs a kitchen full of cooks). I like Jamie's 30 minute meals series but he does get on my nerves at times.

I have given my wife many GJ pieces over the years, mostly rings and earings from the Sydney GJ shop. In return, on our 40th anniversary last month she me gave a gold GJ watch from the Doha GJ shop. As is all GJ gear, it is elegant and simple and gets many comments.

What a coincidence, only last week I pulled out an old box and found my long forgotten Jensen collection, so I have spent the last few days polishing them all up and explaining to my boys the importance of the collection to me. I have 3 rings, a wonderful bracelet watch and 2 pairs of earrings. Some of the items I bought myself with some of my first wages and some were gifts but each item has a little story attached from the early '70's.
